Name: Ranchu Goldfish
Scientific Name: Carassius auratus
Description: A popular fancy goldfish with a rounded body, curved back, no dorsal fin and a distinctive fleshy head growth known as a wen. Ranchu are peaceful, slow swimmers available in orange, red, white, black and calico varieties.
Origin: Japan; selectively bred from domesticated goldfish.

Adult Size: 15–20 cm
Lifespan: 10–15 years or longer with proper care.
Food: Quality sinking goldfish pellets, blanched vegetables, daphnia and occasional frozen foods.
Compatibility: Peaceful. Best kept with other slow-swimming fancy goldfish, such as Oranda and Lionhead.
Habitat: Spacious, well-filtered aquarium with gentle water flow, smooth substrate and open swimming space. Allow approximately 100 litres for one adult and additional space for tankmates.
Care Level: Moderate. Ranchu require excellent water quality and regular water changes because they produce considerable waste
