Reef Essential LPS Macro Probiotic Salt

Reef Essential LPS Macro Probiotic Salt is scientifically formulated in a humidity-controlled environment to provide you with one of the purest and most stable salts in the world.

This salt is a hybrid between natural seawater and synthetic salt; combining many of the benefits of natural seawater with the consistency and purity of a synthetic mix.

This salt contains natural macrobiotics, probiotics as well as vitamin precursors which help to improve mineral content, promote beneficial bacteria growth and enhance fish vitality.

The foundation of this salt is sodium chloride which is sourced from the pristine natural seawater located in South Australia.

Natural seawater contains over 70 elements and provides the sodium chloride for the LPS Macro Probiotic along with the FOWLR Macro Probiotic, Mixed Macro Probiotic and SPS Macro Probiotic Salts.

After years of scientific research as well as enthusiast feedback, UAC have tweaked both element and compound concentrations to provide you with a salt that is optimised to help enhance fish health & vitality in LPS environments.

How to mix Quantum LPS Macro Probiotic Salt

Step (1) – Choose your Specific Gravity (S.G)
  • Using the table down below; choose the specific gravity that you would like to run your LPS Reef aquarium at.

  • Pay extra careful attention to the Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium & Potassium levels that correspond to your chosen specific gravity as you will need to maintain those parameters using the Step 3 – Aragonite Enhancers and Step 4 – Bioactive Colour Intensifiers

  • *allow a +/- of 5% in the values present in the table

Step (2) – Determine the amount of salt you need

  • Using the easy dosing table (above) determine how much salt you need for your water change. We recommend 10-20% weekly water changes using the salt.

  • Example calculation:

    200L aquarium @ 1.025 S.G – 10% water change.
    10/100 = 0.1
    0.1 x 200L = 20L
35.2g/L x 20L = 704g of salt you need to add to 20L of RODI water

Step (3) – It is time to mix

Add the salt to ~25˚C water RODI water and mix (preferably with an aquarium pump) until it is fully dissolved. Once fully dissolved; stop mixing.

Check the temperature of the mixed salt, once it has been stabilised to 25˚C you can now add it into your aquarium.

Always add salt to water; never vice versa. Never add unmixed salt to an aquarium.
