The Neptune DŌS Quiet Drive Dosing and Fluid Metering System is the latest iteration of Neptune Systems' popular DŌS (Dosing & Fluid Metering System). It's a high-precision, multi-purpose peristaltic pump designed for advanced marine aquarium keeping, particularly for reef tanks. The "Quiet Drive" aspect refers to improvements in its motor technology, resulting in significantly reduced noise levels compared to the original DŌS.

The evolution of the popular DOS dosing pump, now featuring EcoTech's QuietDrive technology for ultra-quiet operation. Features dual pump heads with precision stepper motors capable of micro-dosing from 0.1ml to automated water changes up to 30 gallons per day. Connects via single 1LINK cable to eliminate power supplies and reduce cable clutter

Dosing Made Easy
The DŌS QuietDrive joins your Apex ecosystem via Apex Fusion. The Fusion app dosing wizard can easily assist setup with basic dosing configurations or use feedback from probes or a Trident to automate dosing based on the levels inside your aquarium. DŌS functionality will also expand in time as new features and equipment are added.

Built to Last
The DŌS QuietDrive has a gearless, direct drive mechanism, featuring a 5000 hour mean time before failure (MTBF) stepper motor. The net result is reliable and accurate dosing month after month even in the demanding environments of a marine aquarium setup. Expect a lifespan potentially 12X greater than a DC motor driven alternative.

Leakproof Design
Leak proof fittings are critically important in a dosing pump. A pump must prevent leakage of dosing liquids but also maintain air-tight seals to ensure accurate pump metering. The DŌS QuietDrive features sure-fit compression fittings which are vastly superior to the dual-barbed fittings that are commonly used on many aquarium dosing pumps.

Key Features and Improvements of the Quiet Drive Version:

Quiet Operation: This is the headline feature. The Quiet Drive technology makes the DŌS pump much quieter, especially at lower speeds, making it more suitable for aquariums in living areas where noise can be a concern. Neptune claims it's 1.5 times quieter at slow speeds and over 4 times quieter at high speeds.

Stepper Motors for Precision:Like its predecessor, the DŌS Quiet Drive uses stepper motors. This is a crucial advantage over many other dosing pumps that use standard DC motors.

Unrivalled Precision: Stepper motors allow for extremely precise control of pump rotation, enabling accurate dosing of even tiny quantities (as little as 0.1 mL). This precision is maintained over time, reducing the need for frequent calibration.

Variable Speed: The pumps can operate at a wide range of speeds. This allows for very slow, consistent dosing of additives like alkalinity or calcium, as well as higher flow rates for tasks like automatic water changes. Apex Fusion wizards automatically select the optimal speed for the chosen task.

Durability and Lifespan:Stepper motors generally have a much longer lifespan (MTBF of 5000 hours) compared to brush-driven DC motors found in many other systems, which may only last a few hundred hours.

Continuous Duty Modes:The Quiet Drive version introduces new continuous duty modes, making it an even better option for applications like feeding calcium reactors, where a consistent flow rate is required over longer periods.

Versatile Applications:

2-Part Dosing: The most common use is for dosing calcium and alkalinity to maintain stable water parameters in reef tanks.

Other Additives:Dosing trace elements, liquid foods, vitamins, or other supplements.

Automatic Water Changes (AWC): The DŌS can be programmed via Apex Fusion to perform regular, automated water changes, drawing old water out and pumping new saltwater in.

Micro-Dosing: Ideal for very small doses, such as vodka dosing for nutrient export.

Calcium Reactor Feed Pump:Can be used as a reliable and precise feed pump for calcium reactors.

Seamless Apex Integration:The DŌS Quiet Drive requires a Neptune Systems Apex controller (A2 Apex or A3 Apex series) to function. It connects via a 1Link port or a 24V power cable and Aquabus connection, reducing cable clutter. All programming and monitoring are done through the user-friendly Apex Fusion cloud interface.

Easy Maintenance: Features easily replaceable dosing heads, simplifying maintenance.

Robust Build: Designed with a direct drive mechanism that is less prone to slipping, stripping, or grinding compared to geared or friction-based pump mechanisms.
