Flora Viv blackwater Water Conditioners simulates conditions found intropical rainforests & rivers for freshwater & planted aquaria. Flora Viv Blackwater is designed to simulate conditions of colour and content of Amazon and similar forested river regions of South America, Southeast Asia and Africa.

It is particularly useful as an aid to induce spawning and hatching of certain species of fishes native to those areas.

It will tint the water a light yellow to a light brown colour, depending on the amount used, reducing stress and improving colour and vigor of fishes.

Flora Viv Blackwater contains naturally chelated iron, other minerals, and vitamins that will stimulate biological cycles in fishes and plants, without causing unsightly algae growth.

Flora Viv Blackwater contains no gluconates, or dangerous polycycloglutaracetal, or glutaraldehyde as some competing products do.

Use in aquarium keeping.

In planted aquariums, use Flora Viv multinutrient fertilizer as your main plant nutrient source, then use this product, Flora Viv Blackwater to provided humic, tannic and fulvic acids to support fish and plants.

Simultaneous use of Bacter Gen F to establish and sustain growth of proper micro organisms and recycle aquarium nutrients will greatly benefit all fishes and plants.

Growth of all photosynthetic organisms also requires strong lighting of proper spectrum.

Pay special attention when using Blackwater because, although it is an overall aid to plant growth, it can have a tendency to “shade” the aquarium, reducing the light available for plants.

Remove carbon and resin filtration because it may remove the Blackwater.

Shake well prior to use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 200 litres of freshwater aquarium water once or twice per week, as needed to support blackwater conditions.

Dosage may be divided and added more often to suit your particular needs.

Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 200 litres of freshwater aquarium water once every other day as needed to provide the level of colouration that you are looking for.

Consult texts on spawning habits for the species of fishes you are keeping to determine their requirements for blackwater and gradually increase colour, as needed until spawning and hatching is complete.

Gradually reduce dosing over several days to return the aquarium to normal.
