Staurogyne repens Tissue Culture is a hardy, low-growing foreground plant with vibrant green, oval-shaped leaves and a compact, bushy growth habit. It spreads steadily to form dense clusters that add texture and depth to the aquarium without creating a full carpet. Its fresh green foliage provides an attractive contrast to taller stem plants and colourful species, making it an excellent choice for natural-style aquascapes. With regular trimming, Staurogyne repens develops into a lush, compact display that remains neat and well-shaped.
Care Requirements:
Staurogyne repens is suitable for beginners through to experienced aquascapers and is relatively easy to grow. Divide the tissue culture into small portions and plant them a few centimetres apart in a nutrient-rich substrate. Moderate lighting is generally sufficient, although higher lighting and the addition of CO₂ will encourage denser, faster growth. Regular fertilisation supports healthy foliage and strong root development. Trim the plant periodically to maintain its compact shape and encourage new side shoots. Stable water conditions and routine maintenance will help Staurogyne repens establish quickly and remain healthy.
Potential Issues and Tips:
Tissue cultures are in a 5cm container - simply rinse gel and plant.
In ideal conditions, shelf life will be approx 4 weeks.
Basic care instructions:
Each pot is 50mm in diameter and packed full of healthy plants.
