Albino Rainbow Shark - In Store Pick Up Only

Scientific Name: Epalzeorhynchos frenatum (Albino variety)

Description: A striking freshwater fish featuring a creamy white to pale pink body, bright red eyes and vibrant red-orange fins. The Albino Rainbow Shark is an active, bottom-dwelling fish that adds colour and personality to larger aquariums. Although generally peaceful when young, it can become territorial and aggressive towards other bottom-dwelling fish as it matures.

Origin: Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. The albino variety is captive-bred for the aquarium trade.

pH: Approximately 6.5–7.5

Temperature: Around 24–28°C

Adult Size: 12–15 cm

Lifespan: 5–8 years

Food: Omnivorous. Quality sinking pellets, algae wafers, blanched vegetables such as zucchini and spinach, and occasional frozen or live foods including bloodworms, brine shrimp and daphnia.

Compatibility: Semi-aggressive and territorial, particularly towards other Rainbow Sharks, Red Tail Sharks and similarly shaped bottom-dwelling species. Best kept as a single specimen with peaceful to moderately robust mid-water fish such as larger tetras, barbs and rainbowfish. Avoid housing with slow-moving, delicate or long-finned species.

Habitat: Well-filtered freshwater aquarium with moderate water flow, plenty of swimming space, driftwood, rocks, caves and plants to establish territories and provide hiding places. A smooth gravel or sandy substrate is recommended. A secure lid is recommended as they may jump.
