Red Sea ReefLED G2 115 LED Aquarium Light

Red Sea ReefLED G2 115 LED Aquarium Light

Matching your Red Sea Reefer is one thing but these lights make your corals pop with beautiful blue night modes as well as optimal coral growth modes.

2 Year Manufacturer's Warranty

Stronger, Richer, Smarter

Stronger lights. Richer colors. Smarter features.
Based on 35 years of research on the needs of corals in artificial environments, ReefLED G2 lights ensure exceptional coral growth and coloration with a wide palate of REEF-SPEC light that will please both you and your corals.

ReefLED G2’s new chipset delivers a richer blue spectrum and stronger white, tunable from 8,000K Reef-White to 23,000K REEF-SPEC Blue, at full power from 10,000K and up.
It enhances fluorescence, color, and coral growth, while the App  offers some great new features.

Reef-Safe
Not every light that pleases the eye is necessarily good for your corals, which is why the ReefBeat App checks your light settings and ensures that you have not exceeded the recommended daily exposure.

This is the Sun’s visible light spectrum
Corals cannot utilize the full sun spectrum. Light above 480 nm (greens, yellows, reds) can potentially harm the corals as it generates excess heat, promote toxic oxygen radicals, and damages the symbiotic Zooxanthellae algae.

Reef-Safe Exposure
Whiter light (lower Kelvin) has a higher brightness/watt than bluer light (higher Kelvin).
ReefSpec Blue light is 100% PUR (100% usable by the corals), 8,000K White light is approximately 45% PUR (55% not usable by the corals).
Corals can only tolerate 5 hours per day of 8,000K @ 100% intensity and 12 hours per day of 15,000K and above @ 100% intensity.

Our recommended “Exposure” is a function of: Color, Intensity, and Photo-period.
App shows the Exposure of each timeslot as a percentage of the recommended daily total.
Total Exposure (sum of all the timeslots) for the complete day program.

Happy Shiny Corals
The ReefLED’s signature REEF-SPEC blue is augmented with more violet and UV, and boosted to 470nm at the high end of the PUR spectrum, making your corals positively pop, whatever their natural color.

Optimal PAR Distribution
The ReefLED G2 provides ideal PAR values throughout the aquarium, without hotspots or areas with insufficient light for coral growth.

Aquarium PAR Intensity Map

How we measured (all measurements in µmol / s/m2 )

Measurements taken in a saltwater aquarium using an Ocean Optics Flame T VIS-NIR spectrophotometer.

ReefLED G2 170 mounted 31cm above the center of a 80x80x80cm.
ReefLED G2 115 mounted 21cm above the center of a 60x60x60cm.
ReefLED G2 60 mounted 17cm above the center of a 50x50x50cm.

PAR vs. PUR
Using strictly PAR measurements to determine the light quality or compatibility of a specific light unit for coral photobiology can be misleading.

The PAR measurement was developed to measure the Photosynthetic Active Radiation of plants that is within the visible light region (400 -700 nm).

The Photosynthetic Utilized Radiation or PUR that is relevant for optimal Zooxanthellae photosynthesis is between 380- 480 nm which starts outside the range of visible light (measured by PAR meters) in the UV region and continues into the blue part of the visible light range.

PUR cannot be measured directly but must be calculated by isolating the PUR wavelength intensity data for each wavelength from radio-spectrometer analysis.

The REEF-SPEC Blue channel of the ReefLED is 100% PUR so for this channel the PUR will actually be slightly higher than the measured PAR due to the UV wavelengths that the PAR meter cannot detect.

The 8000K White of the ReefLED has a strong blue peak in the PUR spectrum as well as wavelengths across the whole visible light spectrum and therefore has a PUR of 45% of its PAR.

The actual PUR output of the ReefLED will vary according to the combined settings of the Reef-Spec Blue and White channels.

Photo mode - Set you ideal lighting for great coral photography at the tap of a button, direct from the ReefBeat homepage.
Select from any number of saved settings from your Manual library.

Manual Library - Manual Library for saving custom configurations
of the color and moon channels together with a run time for instant
 implementation.

Program Library - Create your own lighting program (save as many as you wish).

ReefBeat is connected to your ReefLED 24/7 and will notify you if communication is lost.

Weekly Schedule - You may schedule the same lighting program for the entire week, or a different program each day.

Lunar Cycle - Simulate a 28-day moon phase cycle with the 3W moonlight channel, for reef-safe nighttime viewing.

Staggered Sunrise - Set delay periods between ReefLEDs to create a dynamic sunrise/sunset effect in your aquarium.

Acclimation Program - Helps corals adjust by gradually increasing ReefLED intensity during the acclimation period.

Clouds - Reefbeat offers 3 levels of random cloud activity, creating natural shading for preset periods.
