The Fluval UVC Inline Clarifier Bulb (3W) is a compact, high-efficiency water purification unit designed to eliminate "green water" (algae blooms) and cloudiness in aquariums up to 400L. Unlike traditional UV sterilisers, it uses CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) technology, which runs cooler and lasts significantly longer.

The 3W Replacement Bulb (Part #A19998)

The replacement bulb for this unit is a specialised CCFL tube. Because it runs cooler than standard UV bulbs, it features an impressive lifespan:

• Lifespan: Up to 30,000 hours (approximately 3 years of continuous use).
• Efficiency: Uses up to 80% less energy than traditional 3W UV lamps.
• Maintenance: No regular cleaning of a quartz sleeve is required, as the cool-running bulb prevents calcium scale buildup.

Installation & Placement

The unit is designed to be installed inline on the output hosing of your canister filter.

1. Placement: Mount the unit inside your cabinet using the provided screws.
2. Hose Connection: Cut your filter's return hose and attach each end to the clarifier's 16 mm nozzles.
3. Timer: It includes a 4-24 hour timer, allowing you to run the unit intermittently to extend the bulb's life even further.
4. Direction: The unit is multi-directional, meaning water can flow through it in either direction without affecting performance.

Note: While the bulb is rated for 30,000 hours, it is recommended to replace it if you notice a significant return of algae or if the blue "indicator light" on the unit starts to dim.
