Scientific Name:

Hyphessobrycon Rosaceus

Description:

The Rosy tetra, like other tetra species is a shoaling fish and so do best in groupings of at least 6 or more for them to feel most at home in your aquarium. When kept in a large school you are more likely to see some impressive fin displays from competing males in the tank as well as being able to watch the beauty of the fish as they swim around as one big group.

Origin:

Originally comes from the South American countries of Guyana, Suriname and Brazil.

Enjoys a tank with a wealth of plants and/or driftwood/rock creations for it to swim through and around. Can be kept in a more sparsely scaped tank though the colours and attitude flourish best when it has an environment that it can interact highly with.
