Continuum Aquatics Redox Plus 250ml - Organic Material Oxidizer

Redox Plus will oxidise organics into very fine particles allowing them to be collected by filtration and makes water crystal clear.

It will remove unwanted particulate and dissolved organics, such as leftover food or tea coloured or cloudy stains from the water to make it a cleaner, more pristine environment for your animals.

Raises ORP.

It will “burn up” organics (brown stains, leftover food, organic particulates, excreta) in water much like a fire will do to wood.

It will reduce them similarly to ash allowing easy removal by filtration and providing a much cleaner environment.

It is great to use prior to addition of bacteria or when there are brown colored stains in the water.

A easy test is to hold a white sheet of paper up to your aquarium, and if the aquarium water is “yellower” than the paper, it needs to be cleaned, either by bacterial or chemical action.

It will also raise the Redox Potential of the water, a sign that the water is cleaner and more “crisp.”

This will make water itself seems reactive (and it is) and will rid itself of organic leftovers to a great extent.

Use of Redox Plus may result in Cynobacteria may recede or die off. In this case vacuume out when they become stringy and develope bubbles.

It has been reported that hobbyists loaded the recommended dose into a syringe and squirted it directly on troublesome cyano, with great results.

Although Continuum do not claim that Redox will help with Cynobacteria in practicle use it does seem to be very effective.

When it comes to ozone use, it can be used with ozone but the hobbyist should not exceed 460 mV as stated in the directions. In all likelihood, if ozone is being used, the product won’t be needed.
